Sovereign Lord, you?ve placed the hope of eternity in our hearts. We are grateful for the comfort it brings and the assurance that, in Christ, we will live forever with you.In every conflict, there are clarifying moments of horror, episodes that cast into stark relief the reality of the forces at work and the complex obstacles to peace. The massacre of Al Houla, where more than a hundred civilians were murdered with savage intimacy, is such a moment in the Syria crisis – but not for the reason that you may think. It will not trigger an air war or an invasion; it will not lead to the forcible removal of the Assad regime by Western troops; and it will not tip the balance of choices among the regime’s supporters. Syria has now entered a cavern of civil conflict from which there is only the slightest of hope of escape – and achieving it requires a far more honest reckoning with the realities of power, and the West’s strategic priorities, than is currently on display in the Western debate over intervention in that country.

As with other PMG ouput, Speaking of Now can make you feel like you’ve eaten too many Belgian chocolates as your ears are stuffed with sweet, cloying textures and sunny melodic writing over 72 minutes, but repeated listens reveal whole worlds of intricacy below those sleek surfaces. If it’s abstraction or high energy jazz you want, there’s plenty of that to be found in Metheny’s solo work; the PMG aren’t about that, and I for one wouldn’t want them any other way. Predictably lovely. On the face of it, Song X was the result of an unlikely collaboration and the cause of much headscratching at the time. What was the big-haired king of airbrushed jazz-lite (Metheny)doing with the iconoclastic avant garde legend (Coleman)?

VALENTINE, COMEDIAN….LOLlower self control, are you serious? and what, that “lack of self control” is completely ingrained, which is why they became poor? so it has nothing to do with how our system encourages spending over education, especially for people in lower classes who have less money for education (and because the government can’t bear to fixthat disparity)). It has nothing to do with how unwealthy people are seen as socially worthless, and therefore look for material things to give them some sort of power. nope. you’re saying it’s self control. (you are wrong). I think people who are wealthy shouldn’t feel like they’re some special sort of human. You’re likely to adapt your parent’s economic status because our system doesn’t allow for too much mobility, not because you’re exceptionally good at “self control”The headline is wrong and the text of the article isincomplete and confusing. ?Here’s how I’ve re-written some of the”facts” in this article:

I ran into Black in Palm Beach a few years ago. I asked him how he washe was on his way to jailand he was remarkably gracious, considering how a 2004 piece I’d written in Vanity Fair had been pretty vicious. He later sent me an email decrying not only my poor journalistic skills but also the utter destruction of Hollinger in the wake of charges against him. The fault for that, he said, should not be laid at his own feet, but at those of Richard Breeden, the former chairman of the SEC, brought in to investigate Black and Radler. Breeden had been made advisor to a special committee of Hollinger’s board, and proceeded to empty the company’s treasury investigating its former chairman and CEO.
